If you are looking to purchase a TV for the bedroom, the kitchen or the kids room, a 20″-30″ LCD TV is probably more than enough. When purchasing a small LCD TV, keep in mind that it is not necessary to go with a high resolution TV, since you (or the kids) will probably not be able to distinguish all the details on a smaller screen.
